This is a special project spearheaded by the California Alfalfa & Forage Association, California's Alfalfa Grower's group. It is written by a group of alfalfa specialists , USDA and University people, pest people, and growers. Authors are: UC Davis Extension Agronomist, Dan Putnam, Michael Russelle, USDA-ARS, St. Paul, MN, Steve Orloff, UCCE Farm Advisor, Yreka, CA, Jim Kuhn, Alfalfa Grower, El Centro, CA, Lee Fitzhugh, Wildlife Biologist at UC Davis, Larry Godfrey, Entomologist, UC Davis, Aaron Kiess, Exec. Director, CAFA, and Rachael Long, UCCE Farm Advisor, Woodland, CA.
CAFA has undertaken this project to help educate the public about the importance and broader benfits of alfalfa for a general audience. Many alfalfa growers would learn something from this as well!
